PRERANA (प्रेरणा) - A learning programe transcends the boundaries of conventional education


Introduction PRERANA, an initiative by the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India, is designed to inspire and empower the youth of the country through a week-long immersive learning experience. Hosted at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first school in Vadnagar, Gujarat, this program aims to develop future change-makers by fostering a deep understanding of self, cultural heritage, and national pride.


Program Overview PRERANA selects 20 students from 10 districts at a time, eventually covering all districts across India. The program combines advanced technology with India's rich heritage and inspirational teachings to provide a transformative experience. Participants engage in a variety of activities and workshops that promote critical thinking, innovation, and a sense of responsibility toward their community and country.


Objectives PRERANA's core objectives are to help students explore the following fundamental ideas:


  1. Self-Discovery: Encouraging students to ask, "Who am I?" and understand their potential and aspirations.

  2. Cultural Heritage: Exploring India's rich history and cultural diversity, instilling pride and unity.

  3. Contribution to the Nation: Inspiring students to think about what they can do for their country and foster a spirit of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" (the world is one family).
