Google Doodle Celebrating India Republic Day 2023 | Google डूडल भारत गणतंत्र दिवस 2023 मना रहा है
Today's Doodle honoring India's Republic Day was created by Parth Kothekar, a resident of Ahmedabad, Gujarat. India adopted its constitution on this day in 1950, thereby making it a republic with its own government and citizens.
In 1947, India won its independence from the British Empire and promptly began drafting its constitution. When it was finally enacted, India's Constitution—which had been discussed, revised, and approved by the India Constituent Assembly over the course of two years—became the world's longest. The document's approval ushered in a period of democratic rule in India, allowing people to vote for their own representatives.
Parades are held all around India to commemorate the national holiday, with the largest taking place on New Delhi's ceremonial route, Rajpath. Following the placing of a wreath in commemoration of the departed, the Indian armed forces and cultural and historical tableaus parade through the streets. Beating Retreat is a rite held on the evening of January 29 to close out the celebrations. As the Indian National Anthem plays, the saffron, white, and green Indian flag is raised.
The paper used to make today's Doodle is cut by hand into beautiful patterns. The Rashtrapati Bhavan (the president's official residence), India Gate, the CRFP marching troop, and motorcyclists are all included in the artwork as symbols of the Republic Day parade.
